Affiliate Programs

Hi all!  Things have been hectic on the home front, so my posting has gone to the wayside.  I hope you’ll forgive me for that.

Let’s talk about affiliate programs.  I’m bringing them up because they are a HUGE source of opportunities.  Most people on the internet (peek at the mirror) are the users, not the makers of the things they look for.

And that is a lot of things.  Information, books, resources, furniture, electronics, clothing and so on and so on and then some more.  Now, the interesting thing is this:  People that walk into a store to buy something realize they will likely be approached by a salesperson. It is practically expected!

What they don’t realize, is when they go online and find something they are looking for it very much is the same way! You see an ad for a sale at a store and you click on it. Maybe it is an ad for a huge well known store…but behind that ad, is quite often, just a ‘online salesperson’ that put it in front of you.  The little guys. The ‘salesperson’ that is simply approaching you without being seen.

That sales person is a member of the companies Affiliate Program.

Working for the company and getting a ‘sales’ commission. It is really simple once you know to look for it.  You can see it everywhere (once you know to look).

Now, you may be wondering ‘How to they get into that affiliate program’? How can you get in on this?  That too, is not very difficult.  There are tons of affiliate ‘companies’ that bring the businesses and their affiliates together.

I’ll compile a list and post it for you, but in the meantime — go to a store online that you shop at.  Scroll to the bottom of their homepage and see if they have a link that says ‘affiliates’ or ‘associates’…you might be surprised at what you find there!  Give it a shot, and let me know what you find :)

The List

It’s everywhere  “The money is in the List”!  Almost all of the successful IMers will say it.

I don’t have a mailing list.  That is considered a big fail in the IM world.

Oops.  Well, I know I should have a list and I know that would be best.

But I feel like I’m still in the learning and so I’m not quite comfortable sending emails out that don’t include some useful information for people. I’m getting there but just not yet.

I have leads for my list, and that is something else we need.  So I’m going to share the sources of these leads with you (maybe you have a list to add them too — smart you!).  There are only two I’ve run across (have tried a dozen or so) that I seriously recommend. Here they are:

Unlimited, free, business opportunity leads for any business

Both of these List building services are free.

Triple your list gives you all the detailed information where the lead has signed up with the Triple Your List system as well.  I like the system, but it doesn’t have much support in forum.

Orange Leads (the second banner above) is a very large and in depth site, and is well worth taking time to explore and utilize all the excellent resources and options that you get even in the free membership. Do NOT be put off by the layout of the site, it might not be the most appealing in looks, but there is live chat and active members (think contacts, opportunities).

Both, of course, have an upgrade option. To have a List, you have to have opt-in visitors to your site; or have a lead from “Somewhere”.

These resources are the ‘somewhere’ and a MUCH better option than safelists and freeforall mailing lists.

Mother’s Day

What a great sight to see the kids edging around the  corner with hands behind their backs hiding the gift bags :)

I’m hoping any other Moms who are seeing this have a great day as well.

Maybe I should say..have had, since it is evening time now and the day has mostly passed.  Mine was good.  Nice and relaxing and I only ended up doing one load of laundry~

Have a few more things I’m going to add to the list of Useful Tools, so check that out and let me know if you have any questions about anything!

May Flowers

Time for an update on things isn’t it?

Sorry my Daily hasn’t been very regular, when I get onto a project it seems to go better if I stay focused on it. What I’ve been working on is another site I have and most of yesterday was spent getting files uploaded to my server and links on the site to them.

It is that Content factor I mentioned earlier if you’ll recall.  It can be time consuming and rather tedious but that is what it’s all about! Giving people a reason to come to your site and come back again (hopefully!)

During the past week or so, I have also come to a realization about a couple of the PTC sites I am a member of.  I reached a payout on FusionCash of $25 (they pay by PayPal) and what I did with that was go over to the NeoBux and I “rented” referrals.

This is the key to the PTC sites.  You still have to do your dull little clicking every day……..but that gives you earnings on what all the referrals click as well.  I spent about 20.00 and got 50 referrals and have watched my balance grow every since.  Nothing monumental, but it has the potential to be note-worthy at least.

So you have to pay attention here, this is ‘scaling’.  Important to know about if you want to succeed in anything online. It is like planting a flower. You have to be patient while waiting for that first ‘sprout’ to break through and it needs tending regularly.

Then one day you wake up and could swear it doubled in size overnight. Then it still needs tending, but it grows stronger and eventually blooms.

Seeing the result from renting the referrals … is a bit of a sprout peeking through.  I see this can work, so I will work it a bit more, help make it stronger and we will see what blooms!

Are you planting seeds?  Do you see sprouts?  Let me know!!

If you are stuck, confused? or just have questions for me, let me know ok?  I’ll certainly try to help you along your journey, too if I can.

Gorgeous day here in Texas, and I hope wherever you are is giving you a great day as well :)

Time for adjustment

This is a sad day for me.  It seems that for some unknown (to me at least)  reason the GoogleGods have closed out my adsense account.

*big sigh* It isn’t unknown for them to do this, and I knew that but it was something I had put quite a bit of time and work into trying to make that part of my online strategy.  So it is rather discouraging to be shut down.

They don’t exactly say ‘why’ more than a ‘risk of invalid clicks’ which means they didn’t like something that happened.  I’ll never know what because they never tell exactly. It can be appealed but I expect that process will be pretty pointless (google wins)  and so, time to adjust.

It will become yet another learning experience that I made it through.

Sometimes learning something really sucks.

Update on a few things…

My little experiment to get some of the CPA (Cost per Action) offers completed did not go very well.

I do believe it is really hard to tell with the small little test I did. Perhaps it would work better if I could put more money into it, but I really can’t afford to at this point.  So I’m setting that particular resource to the side.

One of the things I have done is pay about $15 for a huge amount of  ‘search engine’ submissions. That basically submits your site address to hundreds of various search engines that people might use. There is more to the web than Google (believe it or not!). So now those search engines will know my site is there and it should get indexed in them.  And the more places people might see it — the better!

It will take a bit of time to see if there are additional visitors (traffic) to the sites, and if it proves to be worth the investment or not.

For now, I am out to do a little yard work (gorgeous spring day) and then tonight, it is time to pound out some serious content for my main sites. So it will be article writing on the schedule and I’ll try to add a few more items to my free E-book page — so take a look there and see if there is anything you’d find useful, and grab it for Free!

Talk soon,

The mom

Motivation, anyone?

Some days there seems to be a bit more motivation in me than others. Is that normal?  Maybe it was the long weekend, which was pretty uneventful.  I did the usual house-chores, but not much else.  The projects pretty much sat.

Now, it is Monday again and I am feeling primed to get to it!

I have a little test I’m going to try on one of the CPA offers — if it works, I will share this great little resource I uncovered.

Hopefully the results won’t take long, so I’ll go set it up and let you know!

Rest of today’s list is something like:

Post a few ads on free ad sites

Review my site files and organize the ones for downloading and access settings

Market research on at least one new niche topic!

Short list, but lots to do, so I’m off to do it :)

April Fools & Easter weekend

Is it just me or does this seem like an odd combination to anyone else?

Sorry – just struck by the odd little things in life sometimes :)

Update on my little CPA project I started…

It did get started and I have a page with an ebook to download for free. The way the CPA network runs,  if someone is interested in the ebook they would click on the ‘download for free’ link on the page.

When they do that a new window comes up for them to complete a short little survey.  Sound familiar to anyone?

Well, if the survey is completed – I would get paid a small commission.  Hasn’t happened yet.  I’ll explain why in a moment.

Once I started following the guideline I had for it, and was putting it all together yesterday evening, I did what I’m afraid I tend to do.

I wandered. The web is such a large place!

I get a little perturbed at myself when I do this because too often the sidetracking leads nowhere except to wasted time and effort.

Last night, however – it lead to some really awesome and useful tools I had never heard of before!  That, of course, got me excited and there was some heavy bookmarking happening.

Which lead to my staying up much much too late last night. Then the alarm went off this morning (oh, yuk!!).  Yes, I have an alarm even though I don’t go to a j.o.b. –I am still a mom and need to get son off to school. Which I did this morning –then………I went back to bed  LOL! (nice perk)

However, in my late-night brain blast and wandering, I understood why nobody was going to be filling out anything that pays me a commission. Frankly, I did the bare basics, put it out there, drove a little traffic to it using a traffic exchange I like.  Sent out a Tweet or two about it.  Not really much because it was getting late.

Nobody will do the survey, frankly, because a) it isn’t customized well enough to blend with the page I made and probably makes people think of pop-up junk somewhat and  b) I’m not offering nearly enough for them to want it that much.  Really not complicated, and maybe I’m just horribly slow but it is one of those things that needed to ‘click’ with me.

And since it IS Easter weekend and school is out tomorrow, I can say No to that alarm for in the morning and work as long as I like tonight. Since I slept a few hours away this morning, that would be a good thing I think.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and didn’t fall for any April Fool’s jokes today :)

Today’s Mission: CPA project

This will be a pretty quick update today!

I’ve gotten my errands out of the way today and by the end of the afternoon (hopefully before school is out) I am going to get a CPA campaign up and running.

No, I’m not starting my taxes :-p

For those that are frowning in confusion now, it stands for “Cost Per Action”.  It is a pretty simple process.  When someone online does something (the Action) it will pay you a pre-determined amount for using your link.

Here is a little example:  Let’s say you fill out a survey about your favorite movie you’ve seen lately..  maybe enter your email address. Something simple like that.  We’ve all seen those around.  The ones that you enter your information in to get the ‘Free Gift Card” from Walmart or Visa.

People fill them out and someone gets paid because you did it from their ‘ad’ or ‘link’ or however you ran across it.

So, I’ve been studying on this and am going to give it a shot.

Off I go to set up the pages and follow the guide I have gotten for it, and we’ll see where it leads me today!

Hope everyone is having a good one :)

Manic Mondays..

I’ve been working on a few other projects and even got some yard work done since the weather has gotten a bit nice the past few days!

Today I’m going to be adding to my list on the Free Ebooks page.  If you haven’t checked it out, go take a look at the useful information that is there.

Yours for the taking!  Once the list grows more, I’ll break them into sections    (ie: Affiliate marketing, SEO training and so on).

Focus Focus Focus!!

Why is this such an issue for me?

I wandered of again….ended up signing up with Yahoo advertising and putting an ad up.

(Adding 30.00 to the biz expense lists)

Alright.  It was Not such a bad thing.  Sometimes my wandering sparks rewards.  Other times it seems to lose track of the intentions for the entire day :(

And I did get a FREE 75.00 credit on the account as well.  So I have about 100 bucks worth of advertising that I paid $30.00 for.

I made the ad for my PIPS site.  It stands for Plug-In-Profit-Site.

Signed up with them a couple of weeks ago and still going through the training process.  I am very optimistic about the entire PIPS process and I’ll go into more detail about it in another post. What it is and how it all works – as well as anything that isn’t working, I’m sure I’ll spew about~

Now, I have ad on yahoo working for me. I have my Google Analytics installed on my site so I’ll be able to track if it is working or not.  We’ll see.

Online tools — the must have ones

These are the things I find myself using and am going to list them here:

There is a free trial so you can use it before you purchase.

30 Day Challenge Completely FREE training on Internet Marketing and I can’t believe there is any better place to start if you are new to the world of earning online.

The Warrior Forum The Ultimate information place for internet marketing. This is where you will find, learn and get advice from the best of the best. Meeting place of minds and more useful tools than you could use in two lifetimes.

This will be an ongoing list I work on so it will grow as my time (and thoughts) allow.

Desperately Seeking Me!

Welcome to my site :)
I am a single mother who lives in Texas with my two children. A year ago, I lost my job. It was not a lot of fun any way, but it did pay the bills and the mortgage. One thing I knew for sure, is that I would do all I can to not end up back in another cubicle. I am still determined and I do believe. I can learn to do something from home using the internet and my knowledge.

For the past year, I’ve been seeking, learning and searching for my online ‘self’. I want to support myself and my family by working on my computer. So I went searching and have found such a plethora of avenues and information, at times (like this) I feel sort of like Alice down the rabbit hole.

It can be very confusing and even overwhelming at times.

In my own effort to ‘land’ somewhere in this immense cyberspace so full of ‘opportunity’ and ‘sure fire methods’ I’m starting this blog.
It is probably going to be more for me than anyone reading it :)
Somehow, I need to put this all down in some form that helps consolidate it for me. I am awful with the ‘old school’ organization apparently (cause it has not been working lol).
So, let’s do it this way! If you want to tag along, come and take the journey with me and hopefully it will lead us to something more prosperous for all of us.

I am nobody special, not highly educated or any ‘secrets’ so I’m pretty sure if I find something that works, it will work for anyone!
